Adams and Reese New Orleans Partners William “Billy” Gaudet and James “Jim” Rogers, III have been named to New Orleans CityBusiness Newspaper’s 2017 “Leadership in Law” Class. Gaudet and Rogers will be recognized alongside their fellow honorees at a cocktail reception taking place May 22nd at the New Orleans Museum of Art. They will also be featured in a special insert profiling all 2017 “Leadership in Law” honorees in the May 26th issue of New Orleans CityBusiness.

Gaudet, a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, leads the Complex/Class Action Practice across all 16 Adams and Reese offices. He maintains a diverse complex/class action litigation practice that includes consumer fraud claims, securities, health care, environmental claims, federal discrimination claims, ERISA, commercial disputes, civil RICO and fiduciary breaches. Gaudet also acts as an advisor or mentor on litigation and strategic issues to other lawyers in the firm.

Gaudet currently serves as president of the Loyola University New Orleans College of Law Alumni Association. He is a past president of the Executive Board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Louisiana. Gaudet is a Class of 2000 alumnus of the New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute (NORLI) and has served on NORLI’s Alumni Association Executive Board. He is also active with the LSBA’s SOLACE (Support of Lawyers/Legal Personnel - All Concern Encouraged) program, a charitable support program helping those in the legal community who have experienced a sudden catastrophic loss.

Gaudet has been recognized among The Best Lawyers in America (by BL Rankings, LLC) in Mass Tort Litigation/Class Actions – Defendants and Personal Injury Litigation – Defendants every year since 2010.

Rogers, also a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, serves on the Adams and Reese Executive Committee. He focuses his practice in the areas of transactions and litigation arising out of the exploration, development, production, transportation and regulation of oil and gas operations worldwide. Rogers has litigated matters ranging from personal injury and property damage claims to collisions, allisions, limitation of liability, reservoir damage claims, pipeline damage claims, salvage, general average, oil field liens, contract disputes, and marine and energy insurance coverage issues. He has also defended professional liability claims against, among others, insurance professionals and marine surveyors.

Rogers is an active member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, the New Orleans Association of Defense Counsel, the Energy Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit. He is a former member of the boards of the World Trade Center, the Metropolitan Crime Commission, the Association for Corporate Growth, and the Tulane Freeman School of Business Alumni Association.

Rogers has been recognized among The Best Lawyers in America (by BL Rankings, LLC) in Admiralty and Maritime Law every year since 2013.
