Adams & Reese Birmingham Attorneys Recognized with ABA Military Pro Bono Project Outstanding Services Award

The American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Legal Assistance for Military Personnel (LAMP) has recognized Adams & Reese attorneys Danielle Douglas and Aaron McLeod as recipients of the ABA Military Pro Bono Project Outstanding Services Award for their exceptional pro bono services in 2025. 

Danielle is a Partner in the Financial Services practice group in Birmingham, Alabama, and Aaron is a Partner in the Litigation practice group, also based in Birmingham. Through their exceptional pro bono assistance, Danielle and Aaron are helping ensure that active-duty servicemembers receive the legal help they need. 

The LAMP Committee presents these annual awards to individual attorneys, law firms, and law departments that have provided extraordinary pro bono services through the ABA Military Pro Bono Project. Individual attorney recipients either accepted three or more cases or completed cases by providing 50 or more pro bono hours. 

Danielle and Aaron's contributions through the ABA Military Pro Bono Project reflect the breadth and impact of their commitment to servicemembers. Danielle successfully advocated for the dismissal of a federal misdemeanor charge against a servicemember who was, in fact, the victim of the alleged crime. Additionally, she has also assisted servicemembers with family law matters, such as obtaining court-appointed guardianship to allow a servicemember to care for his minor brother. Aaron represented an active duty servicemember in a civil dispute with a car dealership, helping obtain a favorable settlement, and provided counsel to another servicemember in a landlord dispute. Together, they represented an active duty servicemember in a civil suit for fraud and misrepresentation after she was sold a vehicle with serious concealed mechanical issues, reaching a favorable settlement while the case was pending on appeal, which allowed the client to obtain a replacement vehicle.
