The new officers were installed at the JBBA June 4th meeting.

The association was founded before 1988 and began as the Bankruptcy Law Section of The Jacksonville Bar Association. It was incorporated as the Jacksonville Bankruptcy Bar Association in 1992.

Grewal is joined on this year’s JBBA Board by Immediate Past President Angela Scott (Office of the Chapter 13 Trustee); Vice President William McDaniel (Partner, Lansing Roy); Treasurer Carli Frederick (Judicial Term Law Clerk, Hon. Jacob A. Brown); Secretary Lauren Box (Attorney, Johnson Law Firm); former Chairman Eugene Johnson (President, Johnson Law Firm); and board members Allan Wulbern (Shareholder, Smith Hulsey & Busey); Douglas Neway (Chapter 13 Standing Trustee); Samantha Kelley (Partner, Bruner Wright); Jerrett McConnell (President, McConnell Law Group); Ellsworth Summers (Partner, Burr & Forman); and Richard Thames (President, Thames Markey).

The JBBA signature event is the 31st annual full-day seminar, scheduled for Aug. 15 at the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The seminar features presentations on Negotiating and Professionalism; Bankruptcy Ethics; and two breakout tracks of Consumer Hot Topics and Chapter 11 Hot Topics. A panel of bankruptcy judges will also cover legal developments from across the Middle District of Florida and the country.

At Adams & Reese, Grewal focuses her practice on bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, and commercial and business litigation. She represents banks and financial institutions, commercial landlords, leasing entities, floorplan lenders, and other creditors in bankruptcy cases. She has represented creditors serving on creditors’ committees and represented Chapter 11 debtors through Chapter 11 plan confirmation.

Additionally, Grewal represents companies and businesses in litigation, including commercial foreclosure actions, and represents landlords, management companies, property owners, and trucking companies in defending against personal injury claims.
