Overview
Aaron Alfano has represented clients in construction defect, property insurance, professional liability defense, catastrophic injury matters, and commercial litigation for over 30 years. He handles complex construction and insurance disputes, advising clients from litigation and arbitration through appeal.
Aaron has represented owners, engineers, and general contractors across Florida. He has defended subcontractors in multi-building construction defect litigation involving multimillion-dollar damage claims. On the insurance side, he has represented property insurers in first-party arbitrations under New York law. He has also advised policyholders on coverage under commercial general liability, professional liability, builders risk, and property policies.
Aaron pairs deep legal knowledge with thorough preparation. He has resolved property and casualty claims for a fraction of the amounts initially demanded, often through dispositive motion practice that drives settlement. He also has appellate experience, with published decisions from several Florida district courts of appeal. His perspective on claims also comes from the insurer side. As litigation manager for a Florida property insurer, he oversaw a portfolio of over 600 pending claims, supervised claims examiners and special investigations staff, and developed the company's claims handling procedures and litigation guidelines. That background helps him give clients practical guidance on strategy, cost, and when to settle.
Aaron brings credentials that extend beyond the United States. He qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales through the Solicitors Qualifying Examination and was admitted to the roll of solicitors in 2024. He has also provided written commentary and presented on insurance industry issues, including assignment of benefits reform for CLM Magazine and fraud detection at the Florida Insurance Fraud Education Committee Annual Conference.
