Brock Willis is a member of the Adams & Reese Litigation Practice Group, where he represents clients regionally and nationally from the firm’s Nashville office.

Brock represents corporate and individual clients in complex trials and appellate matters in state and federal courts, drafts and argues dispositive and evidentiary motions, manages discovery strategy, and prepares witnesses for deposition and trial. He also supports trial teams in high-stakes dispute resolution and crisis management in a wide range of matters, including complex commercial and tort disputes, product liability, health care liability, labor and employment, class actions, ERISA, civil-rights litigation, and injunctive relief matters, among other issues.

Brock brings experience in negotiations, motion practice, and trial work. As a judicial law clerk for The Honorable Mark S. Norris of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee, Brock supported more than 300 civil and criminal matters. Judge Norris practiced in Adams & Reese’s Litigation Practice Group before taking the bench.

As a judicial intern to Tennessee Supreme Court Chief Justice Holly Kirby, Brock researched Tennessee’s early state constitutions and procedural standards for error coram nobis petitions. And as a judicial extern to the Honorable Kristi Davis of the Tennessee Court of Appeals, he drafted bench memoranda and assisted in opinion writing for appeals involving zoning, governmental immunity, and termination of parental rights.

Brock brings to his legal career training as a teacher, coach, and competitive athlete, all of which shape his approach to both aggressively representing and strategically advising clients. Brock holds an M.A. in Education and a B.S. in Business and Marketing Education, as well as a law degree. His background includes a decade of coaching in Division I college football programs. His international coaching experience includes advisory roles with the Argentina and Kuwait national football teams. This background instilled a team-first mentality and a practical approach to strategic planning that he brings to every client matter.

During law school, Brock received the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Trial Advocacy Award, presented to the student who has demonstrated exceptional proficiency in trial advocacy. He also worked as a research assistant to Professor Emerita and former Tennessee Supreme Court Justice Penny White, contributing to the Tennessee Capital Case Handbook.

As a law student, Brock received multiple awards, including graduating with highest honors; Order of the Coif; International Academy of Trial Lawyers Trial Advocacy Award; Volunteer of Distinction Award; the Justice Riley Anderson Scholarship; and CALI Awards in negotiation, trial practice, and expungement clinic. He was a member of the Moot Court Board; participated in the Tulane International Baseball Arbitration Competition; served as a Tennessee Association of Public Interest Law Fellow and a Kolwyck Equal Access to Justice Fellow; was a pupil member of the Hamilton Burnett American Inn of Court; and was a student attorney with the Advocacy Clinic. In addition, Brock earned Gold Level Pro Bono Recognition for completing more than 100 hours of volunteer legal services, including work with the Knoxville Area Rescue Mission, serving people experiencing homelessness.
