Overview
Grant Laizer is a member of the Adams & Reese Litigation Practice, assisting the group’s attorneys in litigation matters at state and federal levels.
Grant was a structured finance intern for Ernst & Young, working on CLO audits with issuance sizes between $450 million and $1.5 billion, and following interest rate environments, particularly LIBOR, as well as market trends and their effects on CLO issuance. Grant earned his MBA from the Loyola University New Orleans College of Business.
Grant is a former summer associate for Adams & Reese, where he shadowed attorneys to gain experience in all aspects of the litigation process - from inception of client consultation to resolution of the case and situation, all specifically tailored to assist the legal needs of a business. In addition, he has experience in civil litigation research; drafting and view of legal memoranda analyzing clients’ potential claims and procedural avenues; and drafting petitions, motions to dismiss, and motions in limine, filed in federal and state courts throughout multiple jurisdictions.
Grant also gained experience through an internship and externship with The Hon. Jay C. Zainey (Section A) and The Hon. Jane Triche Milazzo (Section H), of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, respectively.
In 2024, Grant was appointed to serve as a Junior Council Member on the Louisiana State Law Institute.
Grant earned his J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law where he graduated summa cum laude and earned the distinction of Crowe Scholar for ranking in the top 10% of his class. He was a member of the Loyola Law Review and Phi Delta Phi Honor Society. He also earned the “Law Excellent Award” for the highest grades in Obligations I, Property II, and Lawyering III (Ethics).
Graduating from LSU, Grant received a Bachelor of Science in Finance with a minor in Information Systems and Decisions Science. Grant received the award of University Medalist in Finance and was a recipient of the Baton Rouge Board of Realtors Frances R. Ingalls Scholarship. He was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society.
A New Orleans native, Grant is proud of his commitment to volunteerism and community service, formerly participating in the Best Buddies Program Baton Rouge, a charity organization that aids children and adults with disabilities.
