Overview

Ian Ellerbrock is a member of the firm's Corporate Services Practice Group, where he focuses his practice on real estate and general corporate law.

Ian's experience also extends to the preparation of key transactional documents, including deeds and other related real estate closing documents, as well as corporate authority documentation. He takes a client-centered approach to his practice, working closely with clients to understand their goals and providing strategic counsel and guidance to help them achieve favorable outcomes. Beyond his real estate practice, Ian gained substantial experience in employee-benefits matters during legal internships, where he collaborated with attorneys and staff on the Rental Assistance for Mississippians Program ("RAMP-ERA"), an initiative established to provide rental and utility assistance to individuals affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

For Ian, effective counsel starts with clarity: translating complex legal topics into plain English so clients can make critical decisions with confidence, even in high-stress circumstances. He is equally attentive to context, taking care to understand how a given transaction fits within a client's broader objectives and tailoring his advice accordingly. These principles, in many ways, define his approach to the practice of law.

While attending the Cumberland School of Law, Ian was a member of the Cumberland International Scholars Society, the Alabama Student Bar Association, the Federalist Society, and The Transactional Law Society. He earned a Master of Business Administration from Samford University's Brock School of Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Millsaps College, where he made the Dean's List, played on the Division III NCAA Baseball Team, and was recognized on the Southern Athletic Association Academic Honor Roll.
