Overview

Katie Sullivan is a member of the Adams & Reese Government Relations Team and an Associate in the Mobile, Alabama office.

Katie advises both private and government agency clients in a broad array of state and local governmental matters. These include identifying, facilitating, and securing legislature-funded spending through budgeting, appropriations, and grants for such industries as defense, energy, telecommunications, and many more. She also helps develop and implement policy positions, formulate strategies, and prioritize issues for advocating her clients’ interests. Her interests extend to representing institutions of higher education and charter school clients, ports, airports, housing authorities, and other governmental entities, including water and sewer authorities, utilities boards, and industrial development boards.

Katie’s clerkship and internship experience included a strong focus on legislative matters such as tracking changes to legislation, researching the roles of legislative committee members, conducting social media campaigns and communicating with constituents for a congressman, and conducting legal research. In addition, due to her business-focused background (Katie holds an L.L.M. in taxation and a summa cum laude B.S. in accounting), she is well versed in the tax implications of legislation on clients’ businesses and in the fiscal side of government relations.

As a law student at the University of Alabama School of Law, Katie served as both Junior Editor and Special Works Editor for the Alabama Law Review. She also served as President and Vice President of Auction for the Dorbin Women’s Society and V.P. of the Tax Law Society (2023-2025) while completing her L.L.M. studies.
