Overview
Madison’s previous experience in licensing applications and other regulatory matters helps her guide Adams & Reese hospitality clients through licensing, regulatory compliance, interactions with the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage commission, enforcement matters, tax considerations, among others that are essential to their operations and growth.
Having grown up in Texas but moved to Nashville for college and law school, it’s no wonder Madison chose to make Nashville – one of America’s premier entertainment cities – the location of her legal career. In fact, in addition to alcohol and hospitality, Madison has experience dealing with legal issues pertaining to another important industry in Nashville – music and entertainment. She is experienced in copyright law and, as Notes Editor for the Belmont Law Review, contributed a note on the copyrightability of AI-generated music. As the so-called “music capitol of the U.S.,” Nashville’s music industry will become increasingly involved in this issue and benefit from related legal counsel – applicable to both licensing and copyright.
As a law student, Madison earned an Entertainment Law Certificate, was a member of the Belmont University College of Law American Inn of Court, and served as Vice Chair of the International Intellectual Property Rights Committee of the ABA International Law Section. In her internship roles, she served in the Nashville Metropolitan Government Department of Law, and Educational Media Foundation K-Love & Air1 Media Networks.
Madison’s magna cum laude undergraduate degree (a B.B.A. in Music Business), along with her internships at Capitol Christian Music Group, Full Circle Music, and Sandbox Entertainment Group, helped prepare her for the legal environment in which she serves clients today.
In Madison’s previous position following law school, she found that an approach to client service focused on learning her clients’ business as thoroughly as possible enabled her to advise them proactively on legal matters. She firmly believes in making her clients’ issues her own.
