Nick Whitley is a member of the Financial Services Team in Washington, DC, where he represents financial institutions, businesses, and individual clients in complex matters, including bankruptcy, creditors' rights, and commercial litigation. Nick brings a strong foundation in federal court practice and a deep understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks that shape the financial services industry.

Nick refined his legal practice and analytical skills through extensive judicial clerkships and internships. He served as a term law clerk to Chief Judge Paul M. Black of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Virginia, where he conducted research, prepared memoranda of law and court notes, and drafted orders and judicial opinions across Chapter 7, Chapter 11, Subchapter V, Chapter 12, and Chapter 13 matters. During law school, he also interned for Judge Benjamin A. Kahn of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of North Carolina, Chief Judge David M. Warren of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, and Judge Jefferson Griffin of the North Carolina Court of Appeals. In addition, he served as a student practitioner in a bankruptcy clinic, where he advised pro bono clients through the Chapter 7 petition process in bankruptcy court and managed multiple client matters simultaneously. These experiences gave Nick valuable insight into judicial decision-making and a strong command of federal court procedures.

Nick is committed to delivering practical, client-focused solutions and takes pride in providing responsive service tailored to each client's unique needs and objectives. Drawing on his analytical training and federal court experience, he works closely with clients to develop clear, effective strategies for their most pressing financial services matters.
