Overview

Riliegh Owens is a member of the Litigation Practice Group. Her practice approach centers on practical, client-driven strategies tailored to the distinct needs of each client.

Before joining Adams & Reese, Riliegh gained broad experience through legal internships, where she drafted motions, reviewed and condensed evidence, identified conflicts, handled discovery requests and interrogatories, assembled examined records, and assessed jury pools. During this time, she further deepened her litigation skills by providing research support and drafting memos on complex constitutional issues, including Eighth Amendment challenges to sentencing practices.

A key asset Riliegh brings to her work with clients is the empathy she gained as a pro bono divorce clinic intern, where she supported clients during some of their most difficult times. Riliegh also assisted with child support case management for the Rowan County Attorney’s Office, where she sought court-required child support payments. Through both internships, she learned the value of helping people when the law may be opaque to them.

While earning her J.D. at the University of Kentucky, Rileigh was recognized for her appellate and trial advocacy skills, receiving the Best Appellate Brief for the Appellee Award and the Best Defense Team Award during the 2L Trial Advocacy Competition. She served as a Moot Court Board Member for the Ethics Committee and competed in several moot court competitions. Rileigh also served as a graduate research assistant to Professor Michael D. Murray, focusing on artificial intelligence and the law, and as a judicial intern to Judge William Roberts of Kentucky's 21st Judicial District.
