Seton A. Vanover

Seton Vanover advises and guides clients on a variety of matters and complex disputes. Seton values her ability to cut through legal complexity and explain matters in straightforward, practical terms so clients can make confident, well-informed decisions. She brings a thorough, detail-driven approach to every engagement.

Before joining the firm, Seton gained valuable litigation experience through an externship for the East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney’s Office. During that time, she drafted motions and grand jury briefs, including a brief in a first-degree murder case, and participated in interviews with victims' families. Seton also honed her skills through additional legal internships, where she assisted in premises liability and general negligence defense, prepared an AMO report compelling medical reexamination, and gained hands-on experience in case preparation, motion practice, pre-trial and trial procedures, and alternative dispute resolution. These experiences gave Seton a strong foundation in litigation strategy and client advocacy that she draws on every day.

As a highly involved law student at Louisiana State University, Seton won a CALI Award in Administration of Criminal Justice and Matrimonial Regimes. She was a Tullis Competition semifinalist, a participant in the Flory Trial Competition Preliminary Round, a legal writing tutor, a Board of Advocates member, and a research assistant for a prominent professor. Prior to law school, she earned a degree in Psychology and graduated Summa Cum Laude. Even as an undergraduate, Seton knew she wanted a career in law and was a member of the 3+3 Law Student Society and the Pre-law Society.
