Overview

Taylor Kogan represents financial institutions, businesses, and creditors in bankruptcy, restructuring, creditors' rights, and commercial litigation matters. An associate in the Adams & Reese Atlanta office, he advises clients in complex financial disputes, insolvency proceedings, and business reorganizations involving their borrowers and customers. His experience includes proceedings under Chapters 7, 11, and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code, including small-business cases under Subchapter V.

Taylor's practice spans plan confirmation, contested matters, adversary proceedings, avoidance-action analysis, and creditor enforcement. He builds recovery strategies grounded in contractual rights, priority positions, and default remedies. He also leads contract-driven negotiations that align the interests of creditors and third-party vendors. Through this work, he understands how loan documents and contract terms perform under pressure. That insight helps clients draft stronger agreements from the outset. He manages matters from intake through resolution, including discovery, dispositive motions, and settlement agreements.

Beyond bankruptcy, Taylor also brings a strong foundation in general corporate and commercial law. As outside general counsel to businesses and financial institutions, he has advised on commercial contracting, employment matters, customer disputes, regulatory compliance, and risk management. His experience includes drafting and negotiating business agreements, purchase and sale contracts, and commercial real estate documents, as well as addressing title and transactional due diligence issues. This background enables him to anticipate potential disputes, assess contractual risk, and evaluate enforcement strategies with an understanding of how business agreements operate both inside and outside the courtroom.

Taylor earned his J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law and his B.S. from Kennesaw State University. He is admitted to practice in Georgia.
