Adams and Reese New Orleans Partner Roland M. Vandenweghe, Jr. has graduated from the 2016 New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute (NORLI) program, a nine-month intensive training program for emerging and established community leaders. Vandenweghe graduated alongside 38 business, civic and community leaders from the 10-parish New Orleans metro region.

NORLI is a 9-month program designed to enhance personal leadership skills and examine issues central to the advancement of the Greater New Orleans region. Through a competitive application process, the class brings together business, civic and community leaders representing all races, genders, industries and communities in the region with a mission to promote regional collaboration by providing a forum for the exchange of diverse viewpoints and a network of relationships.

At Adams and Reese, Vandenweghe is a litigation partner in the firm’s New Orleans office. He represents clients in complex and class action litigation, including personal injury cases alleging exposure to radiation, asbestos and a variety of chemicals and toxins. He also has significant experience defending clients in maritime personal injury cases, product liability and construction defect matters.

Vandenweghe serves on the executive committee of the Louisiana Consular Corps and as treasurer for the organization from 2009 to 2015. Since 2003, he has served as an Honorary Consul of Belgium in which he helps facilitate positive trade relationships and serves as a liaison between Belgium and Louisiana and Arkansas.

Vandenweghe is a recognized Best Lawyer® in Mass Tort Litigation and Class Actions – Defendants, and an AV® Peer Review Rated Attorney by Martindale-Hubbell. In the community, he volunteers his time with the New Orleans Pro Bono Project, screening cases for the elderly and destitute.
