Published: Oct 28, 2025
Board certification recognizes attorneys’ special knowledge, skills, and proficiency in the law, as well as their professionalism and ethics in practice. According to The Florida Bar, only 7 percent of eligible members have earned board certification in one or more of the bar’s 27 specialty areas, and an even smaller number are Board Certified in Construction Law.
Tomlinson joins nine other board-certified construction attorneys in the firm’s Tampa office and a total of 10 throughout the firm’s Florida footprint.
Board-certified construction lawyers must have a minimum of five years of practice, have substantial involvement in the specialty of construction law, pass a written examination specific to construction law, undergo a peer review assessment of their competence and character, and satisfy continuing legal education (CLE) requirements.
Tomlinson represents clients in all aspects of construction law, including but not limited to payment dispute issues, lien and bond claims, construction contract review and drafting, contract disputes, and construction defect litigation. He is recognized among The Best Lawyers®: Ones to Watch in Construction Law: Litigation and Florida Super Lawyers® Rising Stars in Construction Litigation.
