Overview

Breanna Burkhead is a member of the Litigation Practice Group. She represents clients across a wide range of matters and complex disputes.

Before joining the firm, Breanna gained hands-on litigation experience through legal internships, where she researched and drafted substantive memoranda on issues ranging from the admissibility of expert testimony in toxic tort cases to judicial conflicts of interest. She also assisted in oral argument preparation before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. She also supported matters involving hurricane insurance dispute resolution, coordinating mediations through the Eastern District of Louisiana Streamline Settlement Program and the Department of Insurance Hurricane Ida Mediation Program. These experiences have given her a client-centered perspective on efficient, strategic case management.

Breanna earned her Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where she graduated in the top 5% of her class, served as a member of the Loyola Law Review, competed as a brief writer and oralist in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, and earned the highest grade in Legal Research and Writing. As a research assistant to multiple professors, she honed her skills in legal research and writing across a range of complex topics, including legislative changes to Louisiana's Family Law Treatise, Louisiana Civil Code Article 197 (establishment of paternity by a child), and the admissibility of biomechanical engineer defense experts in Louisiana courts. Breanna believes her research skills, her writing, and her ability to communicate effectively are among the important assets she brings to any client matter.
