Overview

Christopher MacDowell is a member of the Litigation Practice Group, where he represents clients in a variety of matters. He brings a practical, client-focused approach to litigation, grounded in effective legal strategy and a deep appreciation for each client’s unique needs.

Before joining the firm, Christopher gained experience through legal internships, where he drafted motions, communicated with clients, and observed a House of Representatives committee meeting at the Louisiana State Capitol. Additionally, Christopher served as a legal extern for The Honorable John W. deGravelles of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana. In this role, he researched procedural issues and drafted bench memoranda concerning pending motions. He also observed trials and motion hearings, which increased his knowledge of federal judicial proceedings. Following his externship, District Attorney Hillar C. Moore III appointed Christopher as a Special Assistant District Attorney for East Baton Rouge Parish. Pursuant to Louisiana Supreme Court Rule XX, he tried a criminal case before a judge and obtained convictions by negotiating plea agreements. Christopher credits these experiences as foundational to his legal education.

As a law student at Louisiana State University, Christopher received the CALI Award for the Highest Grade in Legal Research and Writing II and was a semifinalist in the Tullis Moot Court Competition, where he was highly ranked for his brief writing and advocacy skills. He also participated in the Ira S. Flory Mock Trial Competition, the Premiere Trial Competition, the National Pretrial Competition, and served as a tutor for 1L students.
