Overview
Emily Ross brings more than a decade of civil litigation experience to her representation of companies, employers, and insurers in complex disputes. Known for her strategic, results-driven approach, she guides clients through every phase of litigation, from early case assessment and strategy through discovery, depositions, dispositive motions, mediations, trial, and appeal.
Emily’s practice focuses on employment litigation and commercial disputes, including the defense of employers and their liability insurers in Title VII harassment, retaliation, and failure-to-promote claims, Section 1981 and 1983 claims, and Fair Labor Standards Act litigation. She also represents clients in complex, multi-party tort disputes, first-party coverage and statutory bad faith matters, and third-party insurance disputes.
A proven track record of delivering favorable outcomes for her clients, Emily has successfully defended employers through summary judgment and on appeal before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, litigated multiple FLSA lawsuits to favorable settlements, and secured summary judgment, affirmed on appeal, for multiple employers in various Title VII and Section 1981 cases. A confident and experienced advocate in the courtroom, she has argued appeals before the Louisiana Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, argued in many of the Louisiana lower state courts, and successfully mediated hundreds of cases. She also previously served as an Adjunct Lecturer-in-Law at Tulane University Law School, where she taught Advanced Appellate Advocacy.
Licensed to practice in Louisiana, Emily earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Tulane University Law School, where she graduated in the top eleven percent of her class, and her B.A. in Psychology from Eugene Lang College – The New School for Liberal Arts in New York City.
