Overview
Nick Bergeron is a litigator with extensive trial experience in high-stakes disputes in Louisiana state and federal courts. His practice covers personal injury, aviation, products liability, premises liability, admiralty and maritime, class and mass actions, commercial disputes, environmental litigation, construction, first-party insurance, property damage, and insurance coverage. From pre-suit investigation through trial and appeal, clients rely on Nick for practical judgment, clear communication, thorough preparation, and effective strategy.
Nick developed his courtroom instincts as an Assistant District Attorney in the Trials Division of the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office. During that time, he represented the State of Louisiana in hundreds of felony and misdemeanor cases. He tried cases as first and second chair, conducted evidentiary and motion hearings, and handled appellate work before the Louisiana Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal and the Louisiana Supreme Court. Later in his career, Nick practiced at a litigation firm in New Orleans, where he handled numerous trials and complex matters and helped supervise and mentor associates and fellow attorneys. Those experiences continue to shape his work today.
Nick prepares every case to be trial-ready, and that approach gives clients real leverage in negotiation, mediation, and settlement. Once litigation begins, he directs every phase of the case, from working closely with consultants and specialists to taking depositions, drafting and arguing motions and writs, and trying cases before judges and juries. For clients with ongoing dockets, he also provides litigation monitoring and keeps decision-makers informed at every stage. His recent results include a defense verdict in a federal maritime injury trial, a Louisiana Supreme Court win in a products liability case, and the defeat of class certification in two proposed class actions.
