Scott guides national and international clients through the complexities of intellectual property prosecution and litigation, with a particular focus on technically sophisticated matters. 

Scott’s practice centers on the preparation and prosecution of patents in complex mechanical and electro-mechanical technologies, as well as the creations and execution of overall IP development and protection strategies. Scott has represented clients in a wide range of industries, including advanced manufacturing, software, construction, textiles, machine controls, and security systems. His experience extends to managing large domestic and international IP portfolios, conducting IP due diligence for investments and acquisitions, and counseling clients on strategic IP planning and licensing. 

A seasoned litigator, Scott has significant experience representing clients in federal courts and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), including in Inter Partes Reviews, Post Grant Reviews, and reexaminations. He has also managed and coordinated IP litigation matters internationally, including successful defense and enforcement actions in the United Kingdom, China, and Europe.

He also works closely with clients for strategic IP portfolio management, including ways to monitor and manage their IP assets in real time.
