Tyson also practices in the areas of general products liability (HVAC systems, bathroom and kitchen products, roofing systems, water heaters, scaffolding, welding hoses, grinding wheels, winches, ATVs, cranes), pharmaceutical drug liability (PPA, prescription pain medication, antidepressants and anti-psychotics), general casualty, construction litigation, insurance law, professional liability and maritime law.   Additionally, he has an active appellate practice, with numerous favorable reported decisions

Tyson has served as a registered lobbyist for a number of corporations and trade associations, including the nationwide American Chemistry Council, and has testified before the Louisiana Legislature on several occasions. He has authored and lobbied several pieces of legislation in the Louisiana Legislature, including Article 253.2 of the Louisiana Code of Civil Procedure, prohibiting the interdivisional transfer of cases, the 1997 amendment of Article 1561 of the Louisiana Code of Civil Procedure, restricting trial consolidation, and the 1999 revision to Article 2315 of the Louisiana Civil Code, repealing the medical monitoring tort remedy.  Tyson has also spoken in the area of toxic torts, most notably on medical monitoring and legislative reform.

As an educator, Tyson has taught as a designated faculty member of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA®) for several years, including the annual Gulf Coast Deposition Program. He has also served on the adjunct faculty at Loyola University School of Law.
