Adams & Reese LLP is pleased to announce the election of Partners Liz Roussel and David Toney to the Executive Committee (EC), which oversees strategic operations of the Am Law 200 and NLJ 500 multidisciplinary law firm, effective Jan. 1, 2026.

Roussel and Toney will succeed outgoing EC members Mitch Boult and Rob Bethea. Bethea transitions to the role of Corporate Services Practice Group Leader, and Boult as the firm’s Liaison Partner for Growth.

Liz Roussel transitions from her leadership of the Litigation Practice Group, where she has overseen significant growth in the size and scope of the practice as well as the high-profile nature of the firm’s cases and clients. A partner in the New Orleans office, she previously served on the Executive Committee and as Labor & Employment Team Leader. An accomplished advocate, Roussel defends a diverse array of clients, including energy companies, healthcare organizations, financial institutions, Fortune 500 companies, retailers, public entities, nonprofits, state agencies, private universities, charter schools, startups, and technology companies. She regularly defends clients in jury trials, bench trials, and arbitrations, as well as advising employers on compliance with federal and state law, and directors and officers of private and non-profit companies on corporate governance matters. With many honors to her credit, Roussel was twice selected among the New Orleans CityBusiness “Women of the Year.” Other recognitions include “Leading Litigators in America” from LawDragon 500, Chambers USA ranking for Labor & Employment in Louisiana, Best Lawyers®, and Louisiana Super Lawyers® (Thomson Reuters), among others.

David Toney, Construction Partner and Team Co-Leader in the Houston office, has been instrumental in the rapid growth of the firm’s Construction practice, which is ranked No. 15 by industry-leading business publication Construction Executive nationwide among the Top 50 Construction Law Firms™.

Toney advises construction industry clients, including global design/engineering firms, manufacturers of building and other industrial products, contractors, and others in construction disputes, commercial litigation, products liability, and personal injury defense. His broad experience includes complex, multi-party commercial and residential construction disputes concerning construction and design defects, delays, product failure, warranty claims, and allegations of fraud. He also serves as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association (AAA).

Among Toney’s many honors and recognitions are Chambers USA ranking in Texas Construction Law, Best Lawyers® in Construction Law, Texas Super Lawyers® (Thomson Reuters), and he has also been selected as one of the Top Professionals on the Fast Track by H-Texas Magazine. Toney’s professional service activities are extensive and include speaking to trade groups, authoring articles, and presenting in-house and webinars on a variety of topics concerning the chemical, oil and gas, building materials, and construction sectors. These have included such timely issues as construction defects and product liability trends.
